Emergency Information
If J-Alert (the National Early Warning System) issues a ballistic missile warning, or if heavy snow is expected to cause large-scale vehicle congestion or prolonged road closures, that emergency information will be shown on the car navigation screen.
J-Alert Ballistic Missile Information
Ballistic missile warnings are issued by J-Alert (the National Early Warning System) whenever there is a ballistic missile with the potential to pass through or fall onto Japanese territory or territorial waters.
Emergency information is generated by prefectural Police Traffic Control Centers and then transmitted to car navigation systems in prefectures where that information is relevant via the VICS Center through JARTIC (the Japan Road Traffic Information Center).
Distribution Service for Heavy Snow Traffic Restriction Information

This information is generated by the Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and then transmitted to car navigation systems in prefectures where that information is relevant via the VICS Center through JARTIC (the Japan Road Traffic Information Center).
