Heavy Rain Area Information
If heavy rain in excess of 50 mm/h — a level of rainfall intensity capable of impairing a driver’s forward visibility — occurs, the car navigation system displays the rainfall area on the map screen (with a grid of 250-meter squares).
This allows the driver to intuitively identify the rainfall area and drive more safely by avoiding routes that are crowded due to heavy rains.
* This information relies on quantitative data provided by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
- In order to receive heavy rainfall area information, a car navigation system compatible with VICS WIDE is required.
- Additionally, the way in which the heavy rainfall area is displayed may vary according to the car navigation system being used.
- For more information, please refer to the user’s manual for your car navigation system or contact the car navigation system manufacturer’s customer support department.
