Event-Related Traffic Restriction Notices

When road restrictions are implemented due to an event, the restricted area is displayed on the car navigation screen with an outline around the area.
This allows the driver to identify restricted areas in advance in order to avoid roads that are crowded due to the event.

  • In order to receive event-related traffic restriction information, a car navigation system compatible with VICS WIDE is required.
  • This information is generated by JARTIC (the Japan Road Traffic Information Center) in coordination with relevant police departments, road authorities, and event organizers and uploaded into the system. The VICS Center receives this information through prior coordination with JARTIC and provides it to car navigation systems via FM multiplex broadcasting.
