Radio Wave Beacons (5.8 GHz) / ETC 2.0

Radio beacons (ETC 2.0) are installed mainly on expressways (in approximately 1,800 locations), providing traffic information covering a distance of 1,000 km ahead in the direction of travel along the expressway, as well as information on connecting roads near interchanges and parallel ordinary roads.
The reception range of beacons is about 20 meters in front of and behind the beacon. They mainly provide information about conditions in the direction of travel.
